Welcome to Stone Mountain High School!
I am so proud to be your principal. Allow me to introduce myself. I was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with degrees in History and Social Science Education. I taught social studies in California, Florida, and for eight years in DeKalb County. I have also served as an academic coach, instructional support specialist, and teacher support specialist. The last four years, I was an assistant principal at DeKalb Early College Academy. I am married to an amazing wife and have three terrific children. We have all witnessed upheaval due to the global pandemic in a variety of ways. As a result, our theme for this school year is Reviving the R.O.C.K.! To revive is to renew, and we will work
continuously to revive the following:
• Relationships- We will reconnect with our families and community both in the academic
setting and outside of school. Our focus will be on positive encounters with our stakeholders
to build a stronger school culture and climate.
• Oneness- We will work together to create a shared vision and expectation for what we want a
Pirate to be and be able to do before they leave our school.
• Collaboration- We will work together as teachers, parents, students, and community partners
to support academic and social growth for all our students.
• Kindness- We will treat each other with empathy and kindness with a focus on equity for all
students to achieve excellence.
I look forward to listening and learning from you as I immerse myself in Stone Mountain High
School. Our doors are always open, even if those doors may be virtual as we continue to navigate
the pandemic. Let us work together to continue moving the mountain!
