Greetings Stakeholders,
I hope you all have had an enjoyable summer. As your principal, I am excited to welcome you and your students back to Stone Mountain High School! We are proud of the work we did as a community last year. Although the official number is not yet available, our student graduation rate will show an increase. Additionally, we saw a drop in disciplinary incidents. We look forward to making more strides this year.
Our theme for 2022-23 is Reviving the R.O.C.K.
- R- Rigor= We pledge to provide academic opportunities that will enable each of our students to be college or career ready. This includes more Advanced Placement classes. While we provide instruction that is academically challenging and forces students to use higher-order thinking skills, we will support them where they are to get them where they need to go.
- O-Oneness= We will strive to ensure all stakeholders have a common expectation of excellence. In order to continue to move forward as a school, we all must strive to be on the same page with a common vision for our school.
- C-Collaboration= To create a shared vision and sense of oneness, we will focus on strengthening our collaboration with parents and community members. We encourage all parents to join our PTSA, which we plan to revive this year, and submit an application for our Principal Advisory Council. We will provide consistent opportunities for parents to work and collaborate with our faculty and staff as a collaborative team.
- K- Kindness= As a collaborative team focused on the goal of improving our students’ outcomes, let us all treat each other with kindness, empathy, and respect. If at any time you feel you have not received excellent customer service, please reach out to me.

M. Sean Costa,
